What I Did Wednesday :: A Jungle Birthday Party

I think yesterday was the first time I haven't posted during the week in a very long time, but...we had a party for our youngest son. It was a really great time and the kids all seemed to enjoy themselves. I thought I'd share a few pics from the day with you all.

Jake cut out the cutest watermelon basket while I took the center out of a head of lettuce to serve as a ranch dip bowl.

We added Safari Sandwiches, Viper Salsa, chips, animal crackers, and goldfish, ants on a log, gummy worms, and Gorilla Grub (fresh fruit salad) to the table. The palm trees were created using kiwi, clementines, and bananas.

My youngest's stuffed animals were scattered throughout the house to add to the jungle decor.

We played several games: Jungle Bowling where we used a real coconut, Animal Charades, a Safari Hunt for little plastic jungle creatures, and even learned how to walk like an elephant.

Everyone loved taking a swing at the monkey pinata. Unfortunately, the cute little creature met an untimely end.

The end of the party was full of presents, a scary monkey cookie cake, and a copy of Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories for each family to take home.
