Fall Cooking :: Snickerdoodle Bread

A friend of mine recently introduced me to this addicting recipe. I just had to share it with my readers. They are not the prettiest loaves, but they taste amazing!

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup butter (two sticks), softened
2 cups sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup sour cream

3 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions:

In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder; set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugar, salt and cinnamon. Then, add the eggs one at a time; mix well. Next, add the sour cream and vanilla to the butter mixture. Once mixed, combine the flour mixture to the butter mixture until well combined.

A few other individuals will add a package of Hershey's Cinnamon Chips at this point; however, I have never made this bread with the chips and it still tastes fantastic.

This recipe will make 2 large loafs or 4 mini loafs. Fill each pan until 2/3 the way full. In a small bowl, combine the extra sugar and cinnamon to form a topping. Sprinkle over each loaf.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. I like to line my pans with parchment paper, but a nicely oiled pan will do just as well.

I hope you enjoy it as much as my family did!
